FROM THE SOUL
I believe that each person holds the light to illuminate the darkness in which they may find themselves, although we each at times need help finding, nurturing, and connecting to that light. I am passionate about helping clients connect to their own light and make the healing process uniquely their own.
I also believe that the relationships in our lives are of primary importance for our own happiness, joy, and satisfaction with life, and they are also some of our most important tools for self-discovery, healing, and growth.
I feel truly honored to be walking with clients through difficult times and circumstances, and getting to witness growth in clients through the client-counselor relationship feels truly sacred.
FROM THE CV
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado (LPC) as well as a Nationally Cerified Counselor (NCC). I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, and went on to earn my Master of Science degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of Memphis, where I was Co-President of the Kappa Zeta chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, the national counseling honor society.
During my time as a therapist, I have worked in a wide variety of settings, including schools, inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, residential, intensive outpatient, and in private practice. I am experienced in working with children, adolescents, and families to address a wide range of issues, including co-parenting and custody issues.
My passions include working with children and parents to strengthen the bonds within families, helping clients who have endured trauma to bravely begin healing, and working with those who experience anxiety and depression, as well as adults who are facing life transitions.
Influenced by Family Systems Theory and the idea that we exist not only as individuals, but also within many systems that make up our worlds and experiences, I utilize various approaches, including Play Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to help clients heal. I truly believe that my role is to help clients and families discover and nurture the resources they have within themselves to walk towards wholes and healing, and I am honored to be working with Resa Hayes to serve our community in this way.
